This is without a doubt, one of my favourite things at the moment! To say Iâm addicted would be a bit of an understatement! I first started it about 2 years ago and hated it! I think this was mostly because it was a fairly new product to me and I wasnât exactly sure how to make it so I made it wayyyyy too strong! Not pleasant I can tell you, it actually tasted like hot seaweed! Gross! đł But in recent months Iâve been having really bad problems with my tummy and had to give up coffee, which no joke nearly killed me! So I started drinking chamomile tea, which actually kind of grew on me but after a while I needed something more. And so I decided to give matcha a tryâŚ.. I have to say Iâm sooo glad I did!
I drink mine with Oat Milk but feel free to have it with whatever you please! I was asked recently what Matcha was like with oat milk and the only way I could describe it was âcomfortingâ. Itâs like a hug in a mug that makes you all warm and cuddly inside. đ I know what youâre thinking, its too damn hot to be drinking Matcha lattes but in my case Iâm happy to drink them whatever the weather and lets be honest, if you live in Ireland its bound to rain at least half of the time! đ¤
Ok so lets get down to the nitty gritty,,,, wanna know what the cool kids are calling matcha these days?? Liquid cocaine. Yep you read that right liquid cocaine. The reason that its called this is because it is jam-packed with health benefits such as:
- Boosts metabolism and burns calories
- Detoxifies effectively and naturally
- Calms the mind and relaxes the body
- Is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
- Enhances mood and aids in concentration
- Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
- Prevents disease
- Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
And on top of all that contains 10 times more antioxidants than regular green tea! GO ON YA GOOD THING!! AND if thatâs not enough it gives you the caffeine boost that coffee does but without the massive come down after. WINNNNIIIINNNGGGG!!!
Serves 1
Ingredients
½ -1 tsp. Matcha Green Tea Powder (I use the Nua Naturals Unsweetened one but any one is fine!)
Âź tsp. Raw Honey or Maple Syrup
1 Cup Milk of your choice (I chose Oat Milk)
2 tbsps. Boiling Water
First things first, heat your milk! I was lucky enough to get a Nespresso machine for my birthday (oooooooooooooohđ) this year that had a milk foamer with it so I use that but itâs no biggy if you donât have the fancy pants equipment! Simply pop your milk into a saucepan and heat it up gangsta style!đ
Once the milk is heated to your preferred temperature grab your favourite mug and a teaspoon. If this is your first time having Matcha then I would suggest starting with just a ½ a tsp. as its something you need to build up to!

Add the Âź tsp. of sweetener to your powder (I like to use raw honey but whatevs!) and then mix in the 2 Tbsps. of boiling water. Mix with a spoon or whisk until the powder and sweetener have dissolved.

Lastly pour your hot milk in and stir. Thatâs it my lovely! Itâs all yours! Now go get energised and beautiful/ Handsome with this Sweet Green Latte, Cause youâre worth it hot stuff! xxxxâ¤ď¸
