OVERNIGHT CHIA OATS❤️

I don’t know where you guys are based but over here on the emerald isle it is hot hot hot. Don’t worry I’m not complaining, promise! But in light of this lovely warm weather I thought I would share with you guys the recipe that I always turn to when it gets too hot for porridge and you want something more substantial than a smoothie. So here they are my Overnight Chia Oats❤️!

Now please do not be alarmed. I am fully aware that this tasty concoction looks very similar to a bowl of frog spawn but please don’t be put off because I promise you it tastes sooooo damn good! The first time I saw them I was like “Oh Hell No!!!” but I promise you they really don’t taste how they look!

Health wise this is such a great way to start the day! You’ve got all the amazing benefits from the porridge oats (boosts energy, protects skin, supports weight loss, helps to prevent diabetes, boosts heart health and reduces the chance of colon cancer) as well as the AMAZING benefits of chia seeds! The reason Chia seeds are so beneficial is due to them being rich in fiber, omega-3 fats, protein, vitamins and minerals such as dietary fiber, Protein, Omega-3 fatty acids , Omega-6 fatty acids, Calcium, Copper, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc to name a few!Chia also contains essential fatty acids alpha-linolenic and linoleic acid, mucin, strontium, Vitamins A, B, E, and D, and minerals including sulphur, iron, iodine, magnesium, manganese, niacin, thiamine. Convinced yet?

In basic terms they’re really really good for you and they basically swell up to three times their size and act like a gel inside your body that removes lots of bad stuff as they move through! Also – Fun Fact! You can use chia seeds in baking as a really good egg replacement as they get all jelly like and hold everything together just like eggs do!

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS:

Ok you can do this one of two ways, the easy lazy way or the more selective way, no judgment its totally up to you!

EASY WAY:

8 Tbsps. Muesli

4 Tbsps. Chia Seeds

2 Tsps. Nut Butter Of Your Choice (Vanilla Cashew Butter Is My Fave!)

2 Cups Milk Of Choice (I Like Coconut Or Almond Milk Best)

1 Tsp. Vanilla Powder

Optional:

Mixed Berries

BUILD YOUR OWN WAY:

6 Tbsps. Oats

4 Tbsps. Chai Seeds

1 Tbsp. Goji Berries

1 Tbsp. Sunflower Seeds

1 Tbsp. Pumpkin Seeds

1 Tbsp. Cashew Nuts

1 Tbsp. Raisins

2 Tsps. Nut Butter Of Your Choice (Vanilla Cashew Butter Is My Fave!)

21/2 Cups Milk Of Choice (I Like Coconut Or Almond Milk Best)

1 Tsp. Vanilla Powder

Optional:

Mixed Berries

This is honestly the easiest thing ever! Divide all of the dry ingredients between 2 jars, cover the dry ingredients with the milk and stir. I like my Chia Oats quite thick and yoghurt but if you like them runnier then by all means add some more milk!

Leave to soak in the fridge overnight. When ready to serve/eat top with the nut butter of your choice and lots of fresh berries.

Breakfast never tasted so good. Enjoy my lovelies xxx.
