Hot diggidy dog diggidy boom what you do to me……. Its so new to me…. Staring…. PINK BERRY PORRIDGE!!
This is a new fav in our household. We tend to eat porridge Monday to Friday so in the interest of keeping things new and exciting I created this ruby beauty. It’s seriously flavourful, cheap as chips to make and of course packs a nutritional punch. What more could you want! It’s also a great way of getting little ones to eat porridge which is great because it’s full of fibre and gets something warm into them before school and ticks off 2 of their a 5 day without them ever knowing plus there’s no need to use any type of sugar as the banana acts as a natural sweetener mwahahahahahahaaaaa!! Ha hahahaha ha ha….
Ehm,… back to the good stuff. Porridge is full of soluble fibre so it will keep you full, satisfied and regular! Wohooo! Also the large amount of berries in this boosts your daily take of antioxidants so you know what that means?! Healthy, healthy, healthy cells! And skin! Oh yessssss, GETTTT IIIINNNNN!!!!
INGREDIENTS
2 cup oats
4 cups water
1 cup frozen berries
1 banana
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:
Fresh berries
Pomegranate seeds
Sunflower seeds
Pumpkin seeds
It doesn’t get easier than this… pop all of the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil, let simmer until the banana has melted away. Approx 5 minutes.
Transfer to a mug, jar or bowl and decorate with whatever toppings your heart desires and enjoy my darlings.
